Check out my new comedy show GG’s Java Joint

Hey everybody! I would love for you to check out the new Improv comedy series I am producing called GG’s Java Joint. It was created by my wife, writer/producer/comedienne Holly Payberg. I have personally filmed all the bits and can tell you it was very hard to keep from laughing and ruining all the takes.

As the legend goes, GG’s is owned by a reluctant brother/sister duo, Gerry & Gerry, (played by Holly & John Connon) who meet for the first time when their father passes away and leaves the Java Joint to both of them in his will and effectively forcing them to navigate this new business together.

But don’t take our word for it, take it from “Gerry” herself. She started her own blog so that she could share with you all the comings, goings and doings happening at that wacky Coffee Shop/Bar known as GG’s Java Joint so make sure to subscribe

Check out the first episode “The Skeleton’s Are Piling Up” here:

GG’s Java Joint is a fully improvised show (meaning none of these actors have a clue what they are going to say before they say it, therefore it can also be said that they are clueless, but that wouldn’t be nice, so don’t say that.) Enjoy!

4K Retouching Techniques

We all pretty much know that pictures get retouched and photoshopped these days, right? What you think is real is most likely just a bag of tricks in post-production. But what about video? Apparently, you can retouch 4K video like if it was an ordinary photograph. Watch this.

Foton Inc. claims that it has developed a new retouching technique that can be applied to 4K video and it’s not going into the footage and adjusting frame-by-frame or compressing the hell out of it. Nope. Foton claims that its software can track a face as they move around the video and maintain the ‘photoshopped’ edits. It’s crazy.

Space Shuttle & Rocket Launches Plus rollouts, landings, crews and other photos from Cape Canaveral, Florida

Shuttle Endeavour: A piece of space history flies by in slow motion from Vincent Laforet on Vimeo.

Renowned cinematographer Vincent Laforet took to the rooftops to capture the final flight of the Space Shuttle Endeavour as it landed at Los Angeles International Airport last Friday. Vincent shot the landing with a RED EPIC at 5K resolution in slow motion at 96 frames per second. Read his description of the shoot and see photos of his setup at his blog.

NASA’s Shuttle fleet was retired last year after 30 years of flight. Endeavour is the second of three remaining shuttles to head to its retirement home – in this case the the California Science Center.
Endeavour, the youngest shuttle, replaced Challenger which tragically blew up during liftoff in 1986.
During 25 missions, Endeavour spent 299 days in space and orbited the earth nearly 4,700 times, racking up 123 million miles.
